No matter what time of year or occasion, a teacher all the time appreciates a great gift to thank them. The thing is, most teachers would prefer a more beneficial or thoughtful gift, instead of just another coffee mug or apple paperweight. What great way to say thank you, than to receive a gift they haven't already received a hundred times. There's just one problem. Where do you find them?
Actually, finding them might just be even easier than deciding what you are finding for in the first place. So, what do you give? Here are some great ideas that never get old, and some new ideas you may not have considered:
Personal Thank You Letters
- Gift Cards. Gift cards never get old. Although you may want to give a teacher something personal, the reality of it is that most teachers end up spending some of their own money for classroom supplies every singular year. You can all the time give a card to a spa, which is a overwhelming personal gift, but not everyone has a budget for that. Even a gift card to Target or Walmart can help them not dip into their own funds for the year and is much appreciated by your teachers.
- Secret Book Box -- These are beautiful antique books that have been recycled and turned into something truly unique. These book boxes look like books, but are a as a matter of fact a underground warehouse box with a underground warehouse compartment. Easy a very cool gift to get and they come in a collection of titles to suit the recievor.
- "Monthly" Clubs -- Did you know you can get a subscription to a monthly club? They have fruit of the month, wine, coffee, beer, pizza, chocolate... Just about anyone you can think of. They have a collection of subscriptions for every budget, and your teacher gets appreciated monthly by it! Great gift. Its nice to have a pleasant surprise in the mail when you get home.
- Give a Bouquet or Gift Basket -- it doesn't have to be flowers either. They have lovely edible bouquets, like fruit, and and cookies. A gift basket or bouquet is a great gift that can be shared with their own family when they get home, or kept at the school for their enjoyment. Baskets and bouquets are both practical and customizable. everyone loves food and flowers, but you can also put together a great holder of supplies yourself from your local dollar store.
- Make something personal. It may sound cheesy, but a handwritten letter is genuine, sincere and cherished by great teachers -- especially advent from young students in their own handwriting (mistakes and all). Teachers spend a lot of time with their students, and often grow quite fond of them. For those on a tight budget, and even those who aren't, think including a handwritten thank you. It may just be the best gift they get.

Whatever you select to give to your teacher, you shouldn't get hung up on the cost. It just like the old saying, "it is the concept that counts." As long as what you give is thoughtful, your teacher is sure to love it.
